Step 1:
Refer to the page showing the claws and coils sizes or check against the coil size on the top part itself.

Step 2:
Drop the claw during a test game and turn off the machine mid drop to give space for the claw to sit on the acrylic without pulling on the red cord.

Step 3:
Remove the front cover of the gantry head and cut the cable ties holding the spring in place at both the gantry head and the near top of the claw. For maxis, unscrew from the claw cap

Step 4:
Pull the spring out and put to one side or wait to do this once the coil is removed if it is wrapped around the coil lead

Step 5:
Unscrew the white/black coil wires from the gantry in the white connector and if swapping a maxi coil disconnect the black and red/yellow fan wires too. Pull these wires from the bottom of the gantry gently, trying not to pull on any other wires.

Step 6:
Unscrew the red cord cap on the top of the claw. If it is a maxi ensure the metal clasp correctly disconnected and unplug the white connection.

Step 7:
Carefully remove the protective card and washer and make sure to keep them to put back in with the new coil if they are used.

Step 8:
Insert the spring from the old coil into the new, cable tying close to the grommet at one end or screwing it back into the claw cap on the maxis.

Step 9:
Insert the new coil with the card, washer and grommet in the correct place back into the claw assembly and screw the metal cap back onto the claw.

Step 10:
Bring the white wire of the coil (and black/red fan wires for maxi) in through the gap at the bottom of the gantry head and screw into the white connection ensuring they are all the way in and tight.

Step 11:
For maxis ensure the wires for the fan are screwed into the correct connection higher up and following the same colour wires.
Black follows black
Red/Yellow follows Red/Yellow

Step 12:
Once screwed in cable tie the spring and coil wire to the small hole at the bottom corner of the gantry head.

Step 13:
Bring the gantry head into home position and turn the machine back on to let the claw reel back into position. Hold the claw and guide it while it reels in. Then test 10-15 times before putting the gantry front plate back on. .
